MARION H. BROOKS

Marion H. BROOKS, son of William R. and Jane SIMMONS BROOKS, born Oct 29, 1848 in Dryden, Tompkins Co, NY. Married Dec 30, 1865, Eugenie E. COLVIN. His father was in the 161st Reg. Died at Baton Rouge. Marion was in Co E 1st Reg NY Lincoln Cav. Was in Battle of Windheater, Harper's Ferry and in the Shenandoah Valley.

PARK D. COLVIN

Park D. COLVIN, son of Delancy and Mary BROOKS COLVIN born at Woodhull Jan 27 1868. Married Anna, daughter of Wilson and Adelaide HULBURT RUDE. Their children are Adelaide F., Delancy W., John R., and Wilson C. Mr. COLVIN held the office of U.S. mail messenger, was promoted to U.S. Inspector of Post Offices in 1906 and now holds that position. His father was a merchant in Woodhull for 39 years.

 

WILLIAM R. BROOKS

William R. BROOKS, son of William R. and Jane SIMMONS BROOKS, born in Hornell,Dec 22, 1862. First wife was Carrie SAULSMAN, her children Rensalear P. and Victor E. His second wife Jennie ENSIGN, her children , Wilda, Leonard F. and Florence. Painter and decorator, Work by day or job.

 

HERBERT F. ROYAL

Herbert F. ROYAL, son of Amos and Hannah RIDLEY ROYAL, born in Woodhull Jan 19, 1867. Mr. ROYAL is unmarried, his sister Mary keeps house for him. He has a brother James D. ROYAL and a sister Sarah STEWART. He has 138 acres of land and keeps a dairy of cows. This farm was first settled by John MURRAY, father of Hon. Lawrence MURRAY.

 

 

HIRAM TENBROECK

Hiram TENBROECK, son of William and Olive BARTON TENBROECK, born in East Green, Chenango Co, NY Jan 22, 1837. Enlisted Apr,1861 CoE 34th NY Cols., Capt. Henry BALDWIN. In battles Ball Bluff, Fair Oaks, all battles of McLellan on the peninsula. At battle of Fair Oaks, Jesse TAFT was killed. A piece of his skull struck in Capt. BALDWINS mouth. BALDWIN put it in his pocket and brought it home. Mr. TENBROECK first married Mar 3, 1864 to Mary A. WILLIAMS, daughter of Nurna P. WILLIAMS. She died Nov 25, 1903. Mr. TENBROECK’s children are William H., Elwin and Mrs. Nora SLY of Avoca. Married Jennie MASTN, daughter of Peter MASTEN on Nov 3, 1906.
